Victor
Yong (Guitars/Vocals)
With over 20
years of experience in playing a wide variety of music and formats,
Victor’s interests have led him to form The Orient Express,
a much needed niche band that plays as many types of dance music
as possible.
With a background that ranges from classic Chinese music to Western
pop, Latin and Jazz, he also works as a session player. His session
works include local recording artists such as Joanna
Rider (Techno pop/Jazz), Sky
Wyatt (Country), Deborah
Ledon (Latin/Pop/Jazz), Riley
Inge (R&B), S-Bahn
(Polka), Sonora
Kings (Salsa), Roland
Nipp (Instrumental Rock), Live
She Cries (Hard Rock), to just name a few in the Western
music industry. In the Asian music world, he has worked with
Tony Arevalo Jr.
and backup
Hong Kong stars such as Gigi Gu, Yip Chan
Tong, Sandra
Lang and Lui Fong. |

Betty
Tse (Vocals)
Betty's passion for singing began in her teens. Her ability and
interests to explore different cultural musical style have benefitted
the Orient Express in a big way. With a strong powerful voice, she
sings in Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, Indonesian, Spanish, Portugese
and of course English. Her very faithful rendition of beautiful
classic mandarin and Japanese songs from the 60s and 70s brings
listeners nostalgia. |

Terry
Chu (Bass/Vocals)
"I LOVE PLAYING MUSIC. It's been my passion and my love.
That was 1976 when I first picked up a Gibson Grabber bass guitar,
and I never looked back.
My
home town is Hong Kong and I have been playing music live - on
and off - over the years...While bass is my thing but it was the
vocal that kept the music life burning inside me, even when I
was living my life outside of music."

Dave
Yu (Drums)
I started drumming since secondary school in H.K. Once moved to calgary, I followed well known drum legend "Dennis Davis" in the 80's. I don't dislike any particular genre of music.
I had played in bands since the 80's with the likes of 'The Dragonets', 'The Myrols', 'The Golden Nuggets House Band', 'The 3 D's', 'Johnson Brothers', 'A.C.E. band', 'Powerline band'. Occasionally, I do fill-in sessions around Calgary and Vancouver.
